New Theme with Adsense and a Signup Box
If you know anything about Wordpress blogs then you’ll be able to see that this blog is no longer the standard default Wordpress theme. Part of this week’s work was to ad a new theme so that it looks more attractive but of course as you can see there are adsense ads being displayed. If you have looked at www.chelmstone.com my website you’ll have noticed adsense ads there too. Obviously for this to happen I must have an adsense publisher code.
Last week however, others on this course may not have had an adsense publisher code. Well they have now. The theme(s) that we have used contain all the necessary coding needed to display adsense ads that after about a day or so will be relevant to the content of the blog. A very important lesson to learn for anyone who has a site with adsense ads is that one should never ever be tempted to click on one’s own ads and never ask other people to click on them either.
Be assured that Google have technology in place that will track every single click. Google will catch you and the adsense account will be banned. I did say in a previous blog that I would not reveal what I learn on this course out of respect for John and other students past, present and future. The things I’m mentioning here though are self evident. Obviously if you are reading this you can see the adsense ads I’ve already mentioned.
The other thing that stands out is the Signup Box at the top of the main page. There is quite literally more to this than meets the eye and if you wish to know more you would need to be on the course. If you think about it though, you’ll realize that a signup box implies that there is, or will be a list of subscribers which in turn implies an autoresponder. Ok that’s all the clues for today!
